San Mateo County Residents,
It is my privilege to pursue a Judgeship in this county. I am honored to be supported and endorsed by all 26 of our current Judges, 20 retired Judges, the County Sheriff and retired Sheriff, the Police Chiefs of 7 cities, the Chief Probation Officer and the retired District Attorney. I also have widespread support from elected officials and colleagues. Having worked in San Mateo County for over 25 years, my most satisfying achievement has been maintaining long term relationships of trust and confidence. As a Judge, I would be fair, objective and respectful to all appearing before me. My 17 years of practicing law, together with my experience as a Court Appointed Judicial Arbitrator and Court Administrator, makes me well qualified to preside over a wide variety of legal matters while placing a priority on court efficiency. |

| I was raised in San Mateo, attending Hillsdale High School and College of San Mateo. My Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice was obtained from Sacramento State University, followed by a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from Hayward State University. My first job was with the San Mateo County Probation Department. I then worked as the Master Calendar Coordinator for the San Mateo County Superior Court where I managed the court’s calendar, coordinating the assignment of criminal and civil cases among the court’s Judges.
Following Santa Clara University Law School, I was hired by the law firm of Nagle, Krug and Winters in Burlingame. For approximately 10 years, I represented defendants sued in personal injury matters and specialized in the investigation of insurance fraud. I became a named partner in that law firm. In the year 2000, I had the opportunity to broaden my legal experience when George Corey invited me to join his firm as a partner. Since that time, I have thoroughly enjoyed working on many larger cases, including both the prosecution and defense of litigated civil matters. During the past 7 years, I have also served as a Judicial Arbitrator for the San Mateo Superior Court and was elected President of the San Mateo County Trial Lawyers Association for 2008.

Personally, I have been married for over 20 years. My wife, Lizbeth, works as an elementary school teacher while being a wonderful mother to our three children, Claire, Samuel and Emily. Positive, respectful relationships are important to me and I have volunteered my time in helping others in that regard, including serving on the Board of Directors of CORA (Community Overcoming Relationship Abuse), the domestic violence prevention organization in San Mateo County. I look forward to the coming months of continued support and enthusiastically anticipate the opportunity to serve the people of this county as a Superior Court Judge. |
